Packaging your items well is critical for ensuring the consignment
reaches its destination safely.
If your item is fragile, its especially important that extra care is
taken in preparing your freight prior to despatch. Ideally, your item
should travel in the original packaging from the manufacturer.
Sometimes this is not available and sometimes the original packaging
is not adequate.
We therefore encourage you to ensure your packaging meets the
standards in these simple steps:
Step 1:
Ensure you item has a minimum of 3 layers of bubble wrap
Step 2:
Source enough void fill so that your item has a soft insulating
buffer of about 5-10cm on all sides.
Step 3:
Put the item and void fill in a thick sturdy carton. Ensure all the
edges and openings are securely taped up then apply your shipping
label. Make sure the bar code has no tape over it so it can be
scanned.
If you are using a flat pack, its critical to ensure the edges and
load bearing areas are double reinforced with extra cardboard.
